An extraordinary international ensemble, presenting a new original project that includes works written especially for it. The music combines modern jazz with elements of classical music, folklore and world music — bringing to the stage a one-off encounter between five leading musicians from different continents.
Jerzy Malek
Trumpeter, composer and music producer. Member of the faculty of the Academy of Music in Gdansk and the Frederic Chopin University in Warsaw. Winner of many international awards, including Grand Prix at leading jazz competitions, and collaborates with the best jazz players in the world.
Andy Middleton
Saxophonist and composer with an extensive international career. Collaborated with Ralph Towner, Kenny Wheeler and Dave Holland. Lecturer in saxophone, jazz piano and composition in Vienna.
Kalman Oláh
One of Europe's most prominent pianists, combining jazz with contemporary classical music and folklore. Winner of numerous awards and performing with leading artists, including Lee Kunitz and Joe LeBron.
Doug Weiss
One of the greatest double bass players of our time. Was a member of the ensembles of Al Foster and Brian Blade. Performs, records and lectures at leading academies around the world.
Doug Weiss
A leading drummer, composer, and teacher, he is active in the jazz scenes in the US and Europe, and has performed with notable artists including Esperanza Spaulding, David Friesen, and John Abercrombie.
